Oh Pnina...

This summer I've racked up a couple projects to work on. Currently I'm working a on a very special cocktail dress for one of my closest friends. I'm gonna post a picture with the fabric selections and pattern, hopefully in the next couple of days.

The main point of this blog is an inspiration that hit me today. I was watching "Say Yes to the Dress" whilst eating my lunch today and of course a bride came in wanting a Pnina gown. Originally I've never been a Pnina bride, but today she grew on me. Don't get me wrong I've always admired her work, but today I realized the attention to detail she places on each piece. I think it hit me today that this is the aspect my work lacks. If I truely want to design wedding and formal dresses, this is an area I need to explore and increase in my designs. I'm going to have to increase my patience if I ever wish to create something close to her beauty.

After this realization I did some research on Pnina, I could not find much as far as a biography. I did learn she was originally from Israel, and she participated in Israels celebrity big brother coming in 4th place. I was pleasantly surprised to find not all of her gowns were see-through though. I always saw her as a designer for a particular taste, the sexy bride that just wanted to push the envelope. She has gowns for every persons dream wedding and I now have 2 top wedding dress designers. Pnina and Amy Michelson. Here are a few of her dresses I found today that I loved. I chose these 3 because they show the different genres she designs in. I love the swirling on the waist I feel that it makes the dresses flattering on any bride.

And of course I have to post my favorite image of an Amy Michelson dress. I find this picture to be so dreamy and romantic.
